During the winter months the volunteers at CNY BMX are busy working on many exciting things for the 2014 racing season.
As you know, our track runs on sponsorship and fundraising. Without any of that many of the improvements that we do at the track are not possible. If anyone knows of a business that would like to be a sponsor at CNY BMX for the 2014 racing season please let Donna know (email@example.com).
We are always looking for new ways to get the name out about the track. Many times people do not know that the track is there, or what BMX is or how they can get involved. If anyone has any advertising or promotional ideas also let us know!
Enjoy the off season and if you feel the itch to race…you can travel down to Endicott to Grippen Park BMX and race inside. Check out their website for racing schedule!

We are also doing a Local Team Race Challengethat night. When you register for Saturdays race, let registration know if you want to be on a team. Our “older” (using that term loosely!) riders will be the team captains and we will divide the riders up into teams. Here is an outline of the rules:
Riders will be put on teams based on their profiency and age.
Team captain will be responsible for getting points from scorers and tallying them up at end of the night.
Points will be calculated using the USABMX Expert/Cruiser/Girl Point table based on your main finish which is as follows:
1st place 100 points
2nd place 80 points
3rd place 70 points
4th place 60 points
5th place 50 points
6th place 40 points
If you fail to qualify for the main your bonus points (number of riders in your moto) will be added to your teams score.
Team with the highest score will win the CNY BMX Local Team Challenge
There has been alot of questions about how the program sorts out motos for each race particially since there has been lower rider counts and some riders are racing with other riders they haven’t normally raced with. So from USABMX-this is how it was explained:
Girls class: If there is not 3 girls the same age, they can move up to 3 years above their age group to find a legal racing class of 3 girls riders. If that is not found, then the girl will move to the Intermediate group within their own age group. This means they might race Intermediate boys.
Novice class: If there is not 3 novices of the same age, they can move up 2 years above their age group to find a legal racing class of 3 novices. If that is not found, then the novice will move to the Intermediate group within their own age group. It will continue to group this novice with intermediates their own age until a legal 3 rider group is formed.
Intermediate: If there is not 3 intermediate riders of the same age, they can move up one year above their age group to find a legal racing class of 3 intermediate riders. If none are found, the intermediate will race the expert class of their own age or continue to go up in age until a 3 rider group is formed. If you race in an expert class, you will receive expert points for your finish.
Expert: If there is not 3 expert riders of the same age, they will move up one year above their age agroup to find a legal racing class of 3 experts. If this is not found, the expert will go to the Intermediate class of their own age and until a 3 rider group is formed. The entire racing class will receive expert points based on their finish.
Hopefully this clears up some confusion and questions. Please remember that registration does not make the motos. They are sorted and grouped according to this method by the programming software!

I know there has been alot of questions regarding State number plates. Per USABMX…even if the rider had all their state qualifiers and local race qualifiers but did not go to Shoreham last weekend for the State Championship will not receive a state number plate. The rider will be state ranked and it will be updated soon on USABMX website, but they will not receive an actual number plate as has been available in years past! : (
Our Summer Series Race is coming down to the line!
Check out where you stand in the Summer Series Points!

We want to give a shout out as we approach the end of the Summer Series to all of our move up riders! So far we have had Nicholas Guller, Wyatt Young, and William Murphy. Great job boys!
Also, we’d like to Payton Hirsch, Tristan Murphy, and Matthew Acquaviva the thumbs up as they have passed the halfway mark on the march to the Intermediate class. Nice job guys.
Remember, only 5 more races for the Summer Series! So, head on out to the track to grab some more points and wins!
